Jamie Foxx is ready to open up about his recent health battle in a way that only he can.
The Oscar-winning actor and comedian announced plans for an "unforgettable one-man show" where he will finally open up about the mysterious “serious health scare” he experienced last year.
Taking to his Instagram on September 2, Foxx, 56, teased the show with a simple black screen featuring the words “WHAT HAD HAPPENED WAS.”
"Experience Jamie Foxx like never before in this intimate and engaging performance, as he opens up about his struggles, triumphs, and everything in between," Foxx wrote, promising a night filled with humour, heart, and inspiration.
Foxx’s health scare occurred in April 2023 while he was in the midst of filming the Netflix movie Back in Action alongside Cameron Diaz. The father of two spent several months out of the spotlight, but he has since made a full recovery and resumed work on the project.
Foxx briefly addressed the medical emergency while accepting the African American Film Critics Association’s Producers Award for his company Foxxhole Productions back in March.
Though he didn’t disclose much, Foxx promised he will go into detail the best way he knows how: a comedy special.
“Everybody wants to know what happened and I’m gonna tell you what happened but I got to do it in my way,” he declared.
