Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have faced a new setback as Princess Kate and Prince William secured a substantial amount from US donors, according to recent reports published by the Charity Commission.

The Royal Foundation, initially established in 2009 by William and Harry but led solely by William and Kate since 2019, reported an income of £8 million. This follows Prince William’s remarkable achievement of raising £22.5 million in 2023 through The Earthshot Prize.

These figures are part of the foundation's first annual report since it separated from The Earthshot Prize, which became an independent charity in 2022, reported GB News.

Notably, £6.5 million of the foundation’s income came from donations, with £1.7 million sourced from US-based supporters.

As a result, Kate and William's foundation has surpassed the donations received by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Archewell Foundation, established in 2020 after their departure from royal duties.

Archewell, based in Montecito, California, has seen a dramatic decrease in donations, falling from £10.3 million to under £1.6 million according to their latest accounts.

Although Harry and Meghan relocated to California four years ago and left the Royal Foundation in 2019—coinciding with their move to Frogmore Cottage—the Duke of Sussex continues to receive some financial benefits.

This is due to his share in the income from the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, which amounted to £7,073 last year. This amount was allocated to Sentebale, Harry’s charity for African orphans, founded in 2006 with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho. Sentebale supports children and adolescents coping with HIV and AIDS.
