Ananya Panday is getting candid about Kareena Kapoor’s character in Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.
During her recent appearance at the trailer launch of Call Me Bae, The Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actress revealed that Kareena’s character Pooh inspired her in many ways.
The 26-year-old actress said that she once had Pooh’s dialogues stuck on her room’s mirror for reference.
Meanwhile, sharing his stance on Panday’s obsession with the character, KJo said at the launch, “It’s been 23 years to K3G, but if Pooja (Pooh) and Rohan Raichand had a daughter, she would be like Bae. Ananya’s character in this show is a 2.0 derivative of Pooh.”
Panday said that Bae shares a common ground with K3G’s Pooh, adding, “Pooh is iconic. I dress up like her even now at 23. I have all her quotes on my mirror. She has left an imprint on me.”
In response to a question about her character’s ‘bimbet’ personality, the Student of the Year 2 star said, “As a character, I never made fun of Bae even though she said some really silly things.”
“It’s very important not to judge her as a character, even though people in the show do judge her. She is a very positive girl. But her best quality is she doesn’t judge people back.”
Call Me Bae is slated to release on September 6, 2024, starring Varun Dhawan among others.
