Jennifer Garner shared an inside look at her rigorous workout routine as she prepared for her cameo appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The 52-year-old actress took to her Instagram on Monday, August 5, to share a glimpse of her intense training ahead of the film’s release.
Her training was a combination of cardio circuits, weight training, swimming, boxing, HIIT workouts, water aerobics, and more.
The 13 Going On 30 star was spotted performing various stunts as she titled the video, “Becoming Elektra”
Reflecting on her journey to prepare for her complex fight scene over 20 years after her first appearance in the MCU, Garner said that she wasn't 'Marvel ready' back then.
In addition, the actress admitted to getting roped into signing up for sessions ahead of her iconic scene in the film.
She added, “Other than trying to convince my kids’ preschool buddies that I was secretly a ninja, I hadn’t picked up Elektra’s sais since 2004; I was fit, but not @marvel fit”
This came after Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy first reached out to her for the role.
She said once the “dream became reality,” Garner “amped up” her training, giving her best performance.
Garner, who starred in Daredevil and The Last Thing He Told Me, spoke highly of her journey from getting 'fit' to achieving 'Marvel fit' status.
She wrote, “Shooting the fight was so fun, being there all together—truly like a dream. I’m proud of my friends and grateful to be up there with them. Thank you doesn’t cut it, guys, but it’s a good placeholder until I figure out what does.”
Recently, Ryan wrote a heartfelt tribute to Garner's iconic character 'Elektra' on his social media handle.
