Will Smith had a surreal moment of déjà vu while wandering the eerily empty streets of Zurich, Switzerland, recalling scenes from his post-apocalyptic hit, I Am Legend.
The 55-year-old actor took to social media to share his unusual experience with fans, noting the city's deserted ambiance felt reminiscent of his 2007 film.
In a video posted early in the morning, Smith referenced his iconic role as Robert Neville.
"I am having I Am Legend flashbacks," he quipped, looking around and asking, "Looking for Fred. What you doing out here, Fred?"—a nod to his character’s fictional mannequin companion in the film.
Smith, who is currently working on a sequel to the film, captioned his clip, "Sunday 5:30am Zurich, Switzerland. It is Gorgeous! I shall return."
His post captured the striking contrast between the serene beauty of Zurich and the haunting solitude of his movie's setting.
In a charming clip, Smith begins his stroll by noting, "Little walk through the streets of Zurich. I've never been to Zurich before. This is the first time."
The actor, whose flight delay forced an unexpected overnight stay in the Swiss city, relished the opportunity to explore its serene beauty. "It’s all mine," he says, marveling at the unusually quiet atmosphere.
As he pans the camera to capture the desolate streets, a chirping bird disrupts the silence, prompting Smith to humorously shush it: "I was just talking about how quiet it is, dog."
