Farah Khan issues first statement after mother's death

Farah Khan is taking a moment to reflect on her mother Menaka Irani’s death, just a month after her passing.

The Om Shanti Om filmmaker took to her Instagram on Monday, August 5, to pay tribute to her mother, who passed away on July 26.

The 59-year-old shared a heartwarming photo with her mother, taking a trip down the memory lane.

She wrote in the caption, “My mom was a very unique person. never wanted the limelight or any fuss around her. Despite the hard knocks she faced in her early life she was a rare one who had no bitterness or envy towards anyone.

“Everyone who met her loved her n realised where we get our sense of humour from. Well hardly... she was far wittier n funny than both Sajid n I put together.”

In addition, the Indian film director and writer expressed gratitude for all those who could attend her mother’s funeral and were present during that crucial time.

Farah confessed to falling back into her routine, suggesting that she's allowing things to unfold naturally.

She continued, “It’s time to get back to work... that’s what she was always proud of. Our work! I don’t want time to heal this lump that will always stay in my heart.

“I don’t want to miss her coz she’s always a part of me...grateful to the universe for letting her be my mother n letting us look after her the way she single handedly looked after us all her life…no more mourning now... I want to celebrate her every day…”

Meanwhile, her brother Sajid Khan also honored his mother in a heartfelt post which read, “Still can't believe you are gone...luv u forever mummy...”
