WhatsApp, Meta’s instant messaging app, is rolling out an exciting new feature that enables users to organise events within their group chats, WABetaInfo reported.
This feature was previously only available in community group chats but WhatsApp is now extending this feature to its regular group chats.
Thanks to the new feature, which is being rolled out as the "WhatsApp for iOS 24.15.79" update, users will be able to effortlessly create and manage events within any group chat.
WhatsApp users will be able to manage events on group chats, regardless of whether it is associated with a communityor not.
The update with the new feature is available on the App Store.
According to the official changelog, the option to organise events allows users to input event details such as the name, description, date, optional location, and choose between a voice or video call.
Once the event begins, all members who accepted the invite will receive a notification to keep them informed.
The event details are always end-to-end encrypted, ensuring that only participants in the group chat have access to the information, maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
It is important to note that some accounts may receive it over the coming weeks, as indicated in the official changelog.
