It appears Taylor Swift lives rent-free in Kanye West’s head, as the rapper reignited his long-standing feud with the international pop sensation in his latest track, Lifestyle (Demo), from the album Vultures 2.
“I twist my Taylor spliffs tight at the end like Travis Kelce,” West, 46, raps in the track, making a clear reference to Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Neither Swift nor Kelce, both 34, have publicly responded, but Swift's fans believe she may have left a subtle response for Ye during her August 3rd Eras Tour concert in Warsaw, Poland.
During her Red set, Swift wore a “22” shirt emblazoned with the phrase, “I Bet You Think About Me.” Fans interpreted this as a pointed response to Kanye’s lyric.
One fan commented on X, “She’s so funny for wearing the I Bet You Think About Me shirt after Kanye name-dropped her and Travis in his song, an actual comedian.”
The feud between Swift and West dates back to 2009 when West infamously interrupted Swift’s MTV VMAs acceptance speech. Swift later addressed the incident in her song Innocent.
The tension escalated when West included a controversial lyric about Swift in his song Famous, claiming he had her permission, which Swift denied. Kim Kardashian, West’s then-wife, released a video of their conversation, which was later revealed to be edited.
Reflecting on the scandal in her 2023 TIME Person of the Year profile, Swift described it as “a career death.”
