Lady Gaga honoured late singer Tony Bennet just one year after his death with a heartfelt note.
The Bloody Mary singer, 38, took her Instagram on Saturday to share a sweet photo of herself with the jazz legend, who died July 21, 2023, at 96 after having Alzheimer's during the final years of his life.
“It’s been one year since Tony passed away,” Gaga wrote in the caption. “This picture says it all. I’m so grateful for my continued friendship with his wife Susan—the legacy of jazz music he left—and for the community of jazz musicians I still work with who all knew and loved Tony.”
She continued, “We’re gonna keep on swingin’. Miss you [black heart emoji] life is a beautiful thing.”
In the black and white photo, the Bad Romance songstress is seen smiling and putting her hand to her heart, expressing gratitude with her gesture.
Meanwhile, a tuxedo-clad Bennet is drawing Gaga on a notebook with a pencil as they pose for the cover of their 2021 collaborative album, Love for Sale.
In a video shared of the process at the time, Gaga cried after he showed her his sketch.
Despite Bennet’s condition, he performed in the final years of his life as doctors suggested the singer’s continued relationship with music was beneficial to his condition.
