Twisters director Lee Isaac Chung reflected on Glen Powell’s 'steamy' wet t-shirt scene in the film.
During a candid conversation with Dexerto, Chung revealed that the highly-anticipated scene was created by accident, taking place during a rainstorm.
He shared, “I’ll be absolutely honest with you, it did not occur to me what I was doing until I saw it on the monitor on the day.”
“And when I saw it, it made me laugh and I turned to a producer, who’s a woman, and I said, ‘Well, you’re welcome.’ I guess she was smiling really big.”
The scene that enhances Powell’s obsession among his fans, featured all the elements to meet audience’s requirements.
The director added, “Sometimes the cinematic Gods just smile down upon you.”
Spilling details on his thought process, Chung admitted to being boring for most of the part.
He claimed, “It was just funny that later I realized, of course you put Glen Powell in a white t-shirt in the rain and it’s gonna have a certain look to it,” Chung continued. “But that was not any kind of thought-out plan on my part. Trust me, I’m a little bit boring.”
For the unversed, Twisters first premiered on Friday, July 19, starring Kiernan Shipka, Anthony Ramos, and Daisy Edgar-Jones among others.
