Chris Pine's neighbour, Helen Yu, has been trying to depose the actor in their ongoing court battle since December 2023, but claims he has been evading her attempts.

This revelation comes from court documents obtained by In Touch Weekly.

The trial between the Contractor star and his neighbour has been rescheduled for November after both parties agreed to push back the original August start date.

The neighbor who is a prominent entertainment lawyer, initially filed the lawsuit in 2022, alleging that Chris was responsible for trespassing, nuisance, and negligence.

The dispute centers around the actor's installation of Ficus Benjamina trees on his property, which Helen claims has caused significant issues for her Los Angeles home, which shares a boundary with Chris' property.

She said, “Ficus Benjamina are known to have extremely invasive root systems. Through action or inaction, [Chris has] unreasonably, negligently, or intentionally caused or allowed the root systems of [his trees] which were planted on the boundary line between the properties and encroach upon [Helen’s home], causing substantial and ongoing damage to the [Helen’s home], including cracking of walls and substantial damages to the plumbing and pipes, pool, pool deck, and other areas of in or around [Helen’s home], creating an unreasonably unsafe condition, and interfering with [Helen’s] use and enjoyment of [her] property.”

Helen’s lawyer wrote, “The encroachment upon and entry onto the [Helen’s home] by the [Chris’ trees] constitutes an ongoing and harmful nuisance, has caused substantial and ongoing damage [Helen’s] property, created an unreasonably unsafe condition, and interfered with [Helen’s] use and enjoyment of their property.”

After couple of months, the actor filed a counter lawsuit against the lawyer neighbour.

The Unstoppable star claims his neighbour’s fence encroaches on his property, and is seeking its removal. He argues that the fence has resulted in the loss of a significant portion of his land, reducing his ability to fully utilize his property.

The actor purchased the property in 2010 for $3 million, now valued at $4.8 million. Helen denies any wrongdoing and is contesting Chris' claims.
