Cyndi Lauper is a certified Swiftie.
During her recent appearance on The One Show, the iconic singer, 71, couldn’t help but gush over the international pop sensation, 34.
“I like her. I think she’s terrific,” Lauper expressed.
The Girls Just Wanna Have Fun songstress further applauded Swift’s iconic songwriting, saying, “I think that as an artist she writes some wonderful songs.”
She then shared how she first came to listen to Swift: during the pandemic.
“I first started listening during the pandemic… when she went and hibernated and did that record. That wonderful fold record…” Lauper reminisced, referring to Swift’s 2022 album Folklore.
“It was wonderful,” she reiterated, adding once more, “I’m proud of her, I think she’s terrific.”
The Grammy-winning rocker also gave a nod of approval to Swift’s headline-making relationship with NFL superstar Travis Kelce, 34.
“Don’t mess with her, ‘cause…” Lauper warned, mimicking Kelce throwing out a punch.
Taylor Swift is currently on the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour. She wrapped up three shows in Dublin, Ireland over the weekend, and is now set for three more in Amsterdam, Netherlands this week.
