Derek Hough shared his emotional experience of watching Celine Dion's documentary I Am Celine, which brought back memories of his wife's seizures.
On Thursday, June 27, the Dancing with the Stars judge posted a throwback video on Instagram featuring himself and his wife, Hayley Erbert, meeting Dion.
"Watched Celine Dion’s new documentary, 'I Am Celine,' last night," he wrote. "We were lucky enough to meet her a couple of years ago, even sing and dance with her a little. Haha."
He described the My Heart Will Go On hitmaker as a "firecracker" and admitted they were nervous meeting her, especially Hayley, who is a diehard fan.
Hough praised the documentary for being "incredibly powerful, showing Celine’s struggles with SPS but also her quirky and fun side."
He found it particularly difficult to watch a scene depicting one of Dion's SPS (stiff person syndrome) seizures, saying, "It was so hard to watch seeing her in pain like that."
"It also reminded me of Hayley’s seizure on the side of the stage a few months ago," Hough related this to his personal experience, "I could barely re-watch."
"I pray she heals and returns to the stage she loves so much," He concluded his post by sending heartfelt prayers to the queen of ballads, hoping for her recovery.
