Travis Kelce was completely taken with Prince William’s humility when they met for the first time at the former’s girlfriend Taylor Swift ‘s Eras tour show last week.
Speaking on an episode of the New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs player heaped praise on the Prince of Wales, who celebrated his 42nd birthday with his older kids, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 8, at the pop star’s first show at Wembley stadium in London.
The future King of England also posed with Taylor and Travis for a selfie backstage, which was later posted on their respective social media accounts.
Talking about William, the NFL player candidly affirmed: “Dude, he was the coolest [expletive],” prompting agreement from brother and co-host Jason Kelce, who said: “He was awesome.”
Kelce went on to detail the awkwardness during their interaction as he was unsure of the protocol on whether he should “bow,” or “curtsy” or “just be an American idiot and shake their hand.”
“We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the park,” he noted.
Jason Kelce echoed similar sentiments, noting: “They were wonderful people, and that's what it's about. You know?.
“Obviously, literally part of a monarchy, royalty. Yeah. Hard to be a down to earth human being, I would assume. But came off that way completely.”
