Taylor Swift issues new statement on Scooter Braun ‘bad blood’
Taylor Swift's new statement comes at the heels of Scooter Braun's retirement as music manager
Taylor Swift responded to her feud with Scooter Braun, which was highlighted in Discovery+ UK’s new docuseries, Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.
The musician’s team issued an official statement affirming that Swift has “moved on from this saga.”
“None of these men will ever be able to take anything away from Taylor’s legacy as a songwriter, singer, director, philanthropist and advocate for artists’ rights,” a statement at the end of the series noted.
“Taylor has completely moved on from this saga, and has turned what started out as an extremely painful situation into one of the most fulfilling endeavours of her life.”
The two-part docuseries, which released on Friday, comes at the heels of Braun, 42, announcing his retirement as a music manager. However, he stated that he will remain CEO of entertainment company HYBE America.
The series takes a detailed look Swift’s fight to own her music catalogue following her exit from her former label Big Machine, beginning in 2019.
Swift has since re-recorded her six albums after Braun sold the master rights of the records for more than $300 million.
At the time, the singer revealed that she had tried to “enter into negotiations” but Braun blocked her from even bidding on her work.
In April 2021, the pop superstar released Fearless (Taylor's Version) and later that year, Red (Taylor's Version).
She has since released Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version), with fans still waiting for the “Taylor’s versions” of her 2006 debut album and Reputation.
