Prince William steps into power as King Charles’ cancer shakes up monarchy

Prince William has successfully assumed role of somewhat a leader in the royal family, owing to King Charles’ declining health.

A recent poll by YouGov suggested surge in popularity of the Prince of Wales, surpassing the 75-year-old monarch to take the top spot.

According to the Daily Beast, the survey hinted at the evolving dynamics within the royal family, as William is ought to call the shots as the King continues his battle with an undisclosed form of cancer since the beginning of this year.

A source went on to draw parallel between the future King of England and the late Prince Philip, who they claimed “ruled the family with a rod of iron”.

“And you saw when he died that discipline collapsed,” they suggested. “Now William is calling the shots when it comes to family discipline,” adding: “He can be scary!”

The insider pointed out glaring evidence of William’s role as enforcer in the family, noting the King’s desire to reunite with Prince Harry and the heir’s reluctance to do so.

“Charles would like to see more of Prince Harry, but William, who still refuses to even speak to his brother, isn’t having any of it,” they claimed, “and that tells you everything you need to know about who is really in charge.”
