Shannen Doherty faces financial uncertainty amid divorce, health issues

Shannen Doherty, facing a significant income drop after Charmed's streaming rights expired.

The actress, 53, is seeking financial support from her estranged husband, Kurt Iswarienko, amidst their divorce and her ongoing cancer battle.

Doherty, initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, cites "recurrent health issues" that have rendered her unable to work, leaving her with no future employment prospects.

She requests $15,434 in monthly spousal support, retroactive to June 1, 2024, plus $9,100 for attorney fees and costs.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 star said in February 2020 that the cancer had returned after being into remission in 2017 and that it had spread to her bones late last year, according to People magazine.

As per the filing from last week, she stopped working in 2022.

As a result, Doherty said in the filing, “Today, virtually all of the income I earn is residual income from work that I performed prior to marriage.”

“I recently learned that Charmed will no longer be streaming on any major streaming platform after June 30, 2024,” she said in the filing. “As a result, my future residual income will dramatically decrease.”

Doherty claimed that in addition to losing her SAG health insurance due to her incapacity to work, her medical costs—which she estimated were more than $21,000—will rise as a result. She claims that she has made $25,732 this year.

“Although Kurt’s income is substantially more than mine, he has not made any temporary spousal support payments and has made no contributions to my attorneys’ or accounting fees and costs since the time our divorce action was filed," Doherty noted in the filing.

She added, "Kurt has similarly refused to produce basic information about his 2023 income. Accordingly, my attorneys will file a Motion to Compel to obtain this information."
