Gayle King voiced her support for Justin Timberlake following his arrest for driving under the influence.
During the Wednesday, June 19 episode of CBS Mornings, King defended Timberlake, highlighting his responsible character despite the incident.
"Justin Timberlake is a really, really great guy," she said during a discussion with her co-anchors, "Listen, this is clearly a mistake — I bet nobody knows it more than he."
In addition, Nate Burleson referred to Timberlake's actions as a "stupid mistake," to which the 69-year-old journalist noted, "[Timberlake] knows that."
"He’s not an irresponsible person, he’s not reckless, he’s not careless," she continued to advocate for the SexyBack crooner.
Despite her staunch support for the siner, 43, King made it clear that drinking and driving is inexcusable, stating, "Driving drunk, there is never any excuse for that ever."
For the unversed, the Mirror singer was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday, June 18, in Sag Harbor for driving while intoxicated.
He refused a breathalyzer test and, according to court documents obtained by People, he failed to maintain his lane and ran a stop sign, leading to his arrest for DWI.
Timberlake was later released that day, however, is scheduled to return to court on July 26 to face the charges.
