In a recent interview with Grazia magazine, the 49-year-old star discussed how she found inspiration for her movie looks in the past.
Karisma revealed that initially, she was given specific instructions on what outfits to wear, but she eventually began taking an active role in choosing her own looks.
Speaking about the late actress Sridevi as her inspiration, Karisma said, "I think generally we were inspired by what was happening in the West, old stories of actors, and especially what Sri ji (Sridevi) used to do."
The Hero No.1 actress also praised the English Vinglish starlet, saying that "she moved with the times."
Talking about Sridevi's films like Sadma, Chaalbaaz, and Lamhe, Karisma shared, "I’ve been inspired by her as a child."
She further discussed her perspective on Yash Raj Films' Dil To Pagal Hai, describing it as a turning point in her career.
"It was iconic. Jazz, athleisure, a mainstream actress not getting the hero, it was a turning point," Karisma said.
On the work front, Karisma recently appeared in the mystery thriller film Murder Mubarak.
For the unversed, Sridevi died at the age of 54 on February 24, 2018. The cause of her death was determined to be accidental drowning in a bathtub after losing consciousness.
