Kevin Jonas had surgery to rid of skin cancer?
Kevin Jonas got candid about being diagnosed with a type of skin cancer
Kevin Jonas revealed getting treated for a type of cancer spot on the side of his face.
The 36-year-old Jonas Brothers band member shared the news in a recent Instagram post on Tuesday, revealing that he found out about the spot after a routine skin checkup, and that's when doctors discovered basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that occurs commonly, growing on the right side of his forehead.
Sharing a video clip from the doctor's office, the singer and guitarist provided a peak at the before and after and also spread awareness on the issue.
"So today, I am getting a basal-cell carcinoma removed from my head," Jonas says in the video, showing off a small mole near his hairline.
"Yes, that is a actual little skin cancer guy that has started to grow and now I have to get surgery to remove it."
Seemingly to avoid any graphic visuals from the treatment, Jonas, who is getting ready for the ABC debut of Claim to Fame season 3 in July, quickly cut to the post-surgical portion of the clip and talked about how easy and quick the entire process was.
"Alright, I'm all done, now it's time to heal," the Claim to Fame host told his followers in the social media post. "Make sure to get those moles checked, people."
He captioned the post, "Friendly reminder to get your moles checked."
