Sarah Hyland recently shared hopes for a Modern Family reboot and her character Haley’s career.
Speaking exclusively at the 2024 Drama Desk Awards in New York City on Monday, June 10, the 33-year-old actress talked about her time on the sitcom.
Hyland, who played Haley Dunphy for eleven seasons of the hit series, expressed an interest in bringing back the sitcom to witness her character’s current status.
She told PEOPLE: “I would want to see a script first. I think creatively for me, I would want to know what was going on with Haley. I want to see her career back and stuff and her creativity and I want her to be able to do both.”
In the season finale of the beloved series, Hyland’s character was adamant to achieve a work-life balance, managing her career with being a parent to newborn twins.
Opening up about her beloved character, she said: “[I want to see Haley] do what Claire [Dunphy] then set out to do and did as an amazing mother as well as businesswoman and CEO."
"And I would really love to see that creative side back for Haley. So yeah, I don't know,” she added.
