Apple has reportedly signed a deal with OpenAI and is bringing ChatGPT to its billions of iPhones and new iOS 18.
Tim Cook’s American tech giant is anticipated to release a series of new AI features during the announcement of the iOS 18 iPhone software update at WWDC 2024 on June 10, according to iMore.
About using their chatbot features, Apple was in conversations with OpenAI and Google as per many speculations. As of now, many reported sources are claiming that those talks were successful with OpenAI.
iPhone’s AI future will be graced with the help of OpenAI’s ChatGPT as per the claims by the report. It reveals that a deal has been set between Apple and OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman. It is also anticipated that the deal is likely to be worth billions of dollars in the long term.
If this report claims are confirmed by Apple, the new AI can assist in opening new doors for Siri to have big upgrades.
"Apple has discussed potentially using OpenAI’s tech in the Siri voice assistant to answer complex questions that Siri couldn't answer by itself," the report explains, citing unnamed sources.
