Marvel Studios is moving forward with its X-Men movie, with writer Michael Lesslie in talks to join the project.
Lesslie's previous work includes the series The Little Drummer Girl and the recent prequel film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
While there is no release date or director attached to the film yet, the X-Men property remains a popular and valuable asset for Disney, following the success of the well-received Disney+ animated series X-Men '97, a reboot of the classic 1992 series X-Men: The Animated Series.
The X-Men team first appeared in comics in 1963, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. Their first film adaptation was released in 2000, directed by Bryan Singer, followed by two sequels.
The team was rebooted in 2011 with X-Men: First Class, directed by Matthew Vaughn, and received three more sequels, concluding with Dark Phoenix in 2019.
With Disney's acquisition of Fox, the X-Men and Fantastic Four teams are now part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
A new Fantastic Four movie is scheduled for release on July 25, 2025, starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach, marking an exciting new chapter for these iconic Marvel teams.
Hugh Jackman, the iconic actor who first brought Wolverine to life in the 2000 X-Men film, is reprising his role as the beloved character in Marvel's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie, set to hit theaters on July 26.
This marks a thrilling return for Jackman, who has previously portrayed Wolverine in three solo films, including the critically acclaimed Logan (2017) directed by James Mangold.
Joining forces with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, this new installment promises an electrifying adventure.
