Dakota Johnson has starred in the new film Am I Ok? Which reportedly stemmed from her infamous moment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Max dropped the trailer for Johnson’s new movie on May 20. Am I OK?, directed by Tig Notaro, is slated to premiere on June 6.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the Fifty Shades star and the upcoming film’s director joined hands given to her infamous 2019 appearance on Ellen Degeneres’ show, where the host questioned Johnson about an invite to her birthday party.
During the show, the 34-year-old actress deemed Notaro her "favourite comedian." The two reportedly became friends after Notaro performed at Johnson's birthday party. This connection seemingly landed Johnson the lead role in Am I OK?
In addition, the upcoming movie, in which Lauren Pomerantz is tapped as the screenwriter, is based on the writer’s real-life experience of coming out as gay in her 30s.
It is pertinent to note that Pomerantz worked as a writer on The Ellen DeGeneres Show at the same time during the viral moment. Interestingly, she was on the set that day as well.
Am I OK? Stars Jermaine Fowler, Kiersey Clemons, Molly Gordan, Sean Hayes, Sonoya Mizuno and Notaro.
