Lionel Richie was wrong to think that the toughest days of parenting his daughter Nicole Richie were over.
Nearly two decades ago, Nicole teamed up with her partner in crime, Paris Hilton, to bring the world the iconic The Simple Life reality series.
Now, as the world holds its breath for Sill and Bill for their big comeback in a new yet-to-be-disclosed project, the 74-year-old singer is holding his breath the hardest for the expected chaos to follow.
“They’re older but they haven’t changed, trust me,” Lionel said of Nicole and Paris, now 42 and 43 respectively, in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Let me tell you something, those two scare me just standing next to each other,” he quipped, further sharing, “I don’t know if the world knows this, [but] they started this mess and I was the first guinea pig daddy to go along with this.”
The American Idol judge further recalled, “When they first started doing things like driving down the freeway backwards and I kept saying, ‘What are you guys doing? [Nicole would say] ‘It’s reality television, Dad!’ And now these two are back together oh my god, world, hang on to your seat.”
Nevertheless, as Paris and Nicole recently announced their upcoming mystery show, the proud father offered his words of support for them, expressing, “I’m very happy for the both of them.”
