Carrie Underwood reminisces on American Idol days 20 years after win
Carrie Underwood took to Instagram to post a throwback photo from her 2005 audition
Carrie Underwood recently looked back on her American Idol days.
The 41-year-old singer took to Instagram to post a throwback photo from her 2005 audition alongside a caption that read: “REFLECTION of the week: contestant number #14887 received her golden ticket to Hollywood!”
“I can’t believe it has been almost 20 years since auditioning for @AmericanIdol! #ReflectionOfTheWeek,” the country singer enthused.
Heaping praise on the alum’s post, the official American Idol Instagram page gushed: “We [heart emoji] you so much!”
Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but glee over Carrie’s long journey.
One fan commented: “I remember watching your audition and telling my friends, “She’s gonna win the whole thing!” I’ve been a fan since that moment.”
While another chimed in, adding: “Best idol ever. From my hospital room I remember your audition I told my mom she’s going to win she has to. Followed you ever since. Make a wish to every tour to fcp. I’ll miss the fcp this year because I’m waiting on a kidney. You’re the best Carrie love you lots”
This came after American Idol announced its season 22 winner Abi Carter.
For the unversed, Underwood was crowned as winner 2005 after performing Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me.
During her performance, original judges Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul, and Simon Cowell were on the panel.
She made a comeback to American Idol in 2022, serving as a mentor for the season 20 semifinals.
