Tech billionaire Elon Musk was in Indonesia over the weekend for the Starlink satellite launch, but what really caught people's attention was his outfit choice.
As part of his visit, the Tesla chief executive visited a local community health sector where he was seen adorning a Javanese batik shirt, Business Insider reported.
Batik is an Indonesian technique for dying a cloth.
Musk's choice of attire was all the rage as he’s mostly seen donning a suit or black t-shirts during his business trips or at his company’s product launches.
This time, though, Musk made the decision to redesign his closet and dress more locally, donning a green batik shirt appropriate for Bali.
Musk’s green shirt was gifted to him when he participated in Indonesia’s B20 Summit in November 2022, which he attended virtually. Musk was seen wearing the same green batik shirt then during his video call.
During the call, Indonesian business executive Anindya Bakrie told Musk that the "batik bomba" shirt that they sent him came from a small village in Central Sulawesi.
Musk’s company, SpaceX, has been working closely with the Southeast Asian country to bolster its internet connectivity.
As per the data from the World Bank, roughly 66% of the country’s 280 million population use Starlink internet.
