WhatsApp is rolling out media previews in pinned chats to beta testers on Android.
Meta app’s responsibilities go beyond ensuring the platform’s regular functioning as one of the world's most popular messaging apps, according to Android Police.
While keeping up with some of its opponent services, developers also work on new features for the messaging app, like it was done with the channel’s app in the past.
Thumbnail previews for pinned texts have made it to WhatsApp beta version 2.24.11.12, as confirmed by WABetaInfo. The site also adds that the feature could also appear in older beta versions of WhatsApp.
Notably, there's still a limit of three pinned texts per conversation as this is undoubtedly a handy addition to pinned messages.
Moreover, WhatsApp only lets messages be pinned for a certain time period (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days). As of right now, its unclear if the Meta-owned chat app will change this in the future.
Additionally, a previous WhatsApp beta version 2.24.11.11 has disclosed a new way for admins to include descriptions to their community groups.
