Dua Lipa, in her first-ever ACM Awards, accompanied Chris Stapleton.
On Thursday, May 16, the 28-year-old Dance the Night singer stunned the crowd at the Ford Centre at The Star in Frisco, Texas, by performing before Chris Stapleton's rendition of Think I'm in Love With You.
The 46-year-old country music icon then went onstage with Lipa to perform the heartfelt duet, jokingly riffing off of each other's voices.
As she and Stapleton recapped the performance backstage with Bobby Bones, Lipa said, "It was my idea," and that they had "been talking about" doing their secret duet "for a little while."
"I'm such a fan of Chris's,” she continued, “and I kind of reached out and was like, ‘Hey, wanna do something together?’ And this came about.”
The New Rules artist added, “I feel so lucky to have been in Chris and Morgan [Stapleton]'s orbit for a few days, just like diving into the musicality of everything. It's just been wonderful.”
Another compliment from Stapleton to the Grammy-winning pop artist was, "Dua is kind of the queen of feel-good music."
Moreover, at the 2024 ACM Awards Ceremony, Stapleton won prizes for male artist of the year, artist-songwriter of the year, and album of the year for his effort Higher.
