Christine Chiu was offered a spot on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills back in 2014. However, she turned down the opportunity.
In a recent interview with People Magazine, the 41-year-old fashionista opened up about her decision.
"I actually got the contract for it," she acknowledged and went on to reveal the reason, "At that time, somebody on my father’s side passed away, and then my dog was on the verge of passing away, so emotionally I don’t think I was quite ready."
In addition, her in-laws had reservations about reality television, which was another reason that she did not opt to be in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for season five, "And my husband’s family was very much against reality TV, so I actually had to back out."
"NBC Universal [the parent company of Bravo] was very gracious in allowing me to do so," the entrepreneur concluded.
Had Chiu accepted the offer, she would have been the first Asian cast member on the show. However, that milestone was later achieved by Crystal Kung Minkoff in season 11.
Additionally, Kung announced her exit from the show last month after the season 13 reunion.
