Joe Alwyn made his first public appearance since the release of Taylor Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, as he touched down in Nice, France, on Thursday for the 77th Cannes Film Festival.
The actor attempted to maintain a low profile, sporting shades as he navigated through the airport with a sizable bag.
Despite his efforts, he engaged with fans, signing autographs and chatting with them as he made his way out.
Dressed in grey bomber jacket and blue jeans, he appeared unfazed amidst the buzz surrounding Swift's album and its commentary on their past relationship.
Joe is anticipated to attend the the festival to promote his forthcoming film, Kinds of Kindness, slated for release on June 21.
In this eccentric production, Alwyn stars alongside Emma Stone, who lauded him as "one of the sweetest people" in a press release obtained by People.
Stone expressed her admiration for Alwyn, stating, "I love Joe. We had to do some pretty dark stuff on this one, so it was extremely comforting to be with him because he’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet."
This isn't the first collaboration between Stone and Alwyn, as they previously worked together on The Favourite, another film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.
His attendance at the festival comes nearly a year after his split from Taylor Swift.
While Swift's album reportedly includes pointed references to their relationship, insiders claim Alwyn intends to maintain silence and has no intention of responding.
Despite their high-profile breakup in April 2023 after six years together, Alwyn has refrained from publicly discussing the matter.
