United States President Joe Biden has come under fire for posting a video on TikTok after he himself signed a bill to ban the short-video application in the country, BuzzFeed reported.
Biden posted a video — using his verified TikTok account which has more than 318.3K followers — of himself and Vice President Kamala Harris participating in the TikTok trend set to rapper Kendrick Lamar’s new song "Euphoria".
In the video, both the president and his VP attempted to dis former president and election opponent Donald Trump.
While the video was an aimed at criticising Trump for his past actions and words, the video badly backfired for the Democrat politician, as people have now started calling him out for being a hypocrite.
Biden, 81, has signed a bill giving TikTok’s China based parent company an ultimatum to either share its stakes in the company or the app will be banned in the US.
The White House sites "legitimate national security concerns with respect to data integrity" as the reason.
However, what many people have pointed is that Biden-Harris themselves are using the app for their election campaigning.
According to their campaign officials, their 2024 strategy includes using "every tool we have to reach young voters where they are".
"I would like to see him be little more active in terms of his idea to lower interest rates," says Trump
