Days after being named as a delegate for Florida in the 2024 Republican National Convention (RNC), son of the former US President Donald Trump, Barron Trump turned down the offer, shattering the dreams of a political debut.
The 18-year-old Barron Trump has been away from the public spotlight as Donald Trump had told NBC News that his son is under the eagle eye of his mother Melania Trump, who also remains out of the limelight.
Recently, Trump revealed that Barron loves to advise the former president on political affairs, however, Melania Trump’s Office issued a statement revealing why their son could not serve in any political position now.
"While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments," the statement from his mother said.
The statement did not provide any details further or engagements that are barring the youngest Trump from attending the major political event in July.
The former first lady had been focused on raising her son and wanted to give her a normal life unlike his father, who has a lot of fame but is embroiled in scandals and legal troubles.
