THIS may be world's best beach
Desroches likely to be world's best beach
Green turtles coated in lichen come up for air so close we can hear them breathe, powder pink hermit crabs scamper across the milky sands, and enormous tortoises chew their way through the palm trees behind the visitors on possibly the world’s best beach.
One visitor said: “I don't think I've ever seen anything that stunning, unique, and tropical. Indeed, this may be the world's greatest beach. We also get to keep the entire thing to ourselves.”
The location is known as Desroches, a small island in the Seychelles Outer Islands shrouded with vegetation. It's so far away that a boat ride from the main island of Mahe, which is about 900 miles from the closest mainland (Kenya, to be exact), would take fifteen hours.
Only four times a year does that one vessel complete the trek, bringing necessities to resupply its occupants, according to Daily Mail.
To get away from the humidity and 30C sunshine, the visitor’s spouse and him gladly hop aboard a little prop plane, which is the only means of transportation available to tourists.
Measuring about 3.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide, the only hotel on this tiny isle is the Four Seasons at Desroches Island. The visitors were driven to their hotel in buggies after the plane lands on the palm-lined runway, which stretches the entire length of the island from south to north.
It's the most opulent and entertaining way to get from the airport to the hotel, according to him.
