Drake’s ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar seems to have taken a nasty turn as a security guard outside the former’s Toronto home was shot overnight.
According to BBC, the police reports about suspects, who fled the scene, were in a vehicle and shot the guard around the corner of the Park Lane Circle mansion around 02:00 EDT (06:00 GMT) Tuesday.
It is yet to be confirmed if the canadian rapper was at home when the incident occured, or if he was the target of the attack.
The shooting comes as the rapper is involved in a diss-war with US rival rapper Kendrick Lamar, but the police has refused to consider this as a factor as it is too early in their investigation to accuse anyone with a motive.
"We are in contact with [Drake's] team and they are cooperating," Inspector Paul Krawczyk of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force shared with reporters on Tuesday morning.
Krawczyk further said that the video that captures the shooting is under investigation but won’t be released because of quality issues.
BBC also reports the victim of the shooting, who had sustained several gunshot wounds, including one to the chest, to be in a critical condition in the hospital.
