When someone has extra money to spend on their luxuries, they may go for a stylish car or buy a large house and mark a new beginning of their life but things are very different for ultra-wealthy people who own assets worth billions of dollars such as Jeff Bezos.
The 60-year-old billionaire marked the new beginning with his affianced wife Lauren Sanchez by buying a 127-meter superyacht "Koru," last year.
The founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg also reportedly bought a yacht just before marking his 40th birthday, according to Fox News.
These vessels have become the symbols for the ultra-rich people who want to enjoy lives away from the public eye with their families and loved ones.
Their luxury boats are akin to floating houses featuring gyms, spas, movie theatres and so on. And with time, the custom-built residences over 70-meters become much bigger.
If you want to have an experience of such a yacht, it may cost you up to $1 million.
Jeff Bezos’ megayacht is worth $500 million which made headlines last year as it hit the Mediterranean for the first time along with its 75-meter support boat Abeona in tow.
The yacht hosts high-profile guests other than the couple.
According to the latest Forbes estimates in May, Bezos has a net worth of $199.6 billion.
Reports emerged earlier this year that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg bought a 118-meter superyacht Launchpad, which started its first trip in March from Gibraltar to St Maarten and then to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The billionaire's yacht features a large swimming pool and a helipad. The price of the vessel was reported to be $500 million, according to The Sun and New York Post.
Forbes in late April estimated Zuckerberg's net worth at $151 billion.
