Ed Sheeran reflected on the decades of journey since his × album release.
In a conversation with Billboard at the red carpet of the 2024 Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday, May 2, the Perfect chart topper described his widely lauded sophomore album as "such an important album in my career."
"I think at the time you don’t really realise what’s happening," Sheeran, 33, opened up, referring to the aftermath of his 2014 album that nestled hits including Thinking Out Loud, Don’t and Sing.
"You go from one song to the next song to the next song. At the time, I was just happy that people are liking the songs, and now I look back at the album, and it’s an album people really liked, which I guess is good," the Shape of You hitmaker added.
He raved over his Multiply album, saying, "It took me from arenas to stadiums and I feel like it was such an important album in my career."
Additionally, the singer-songwriter has revealed his plans for celebrating the tenth anniversary of the publication of his massively successful album.
He recently announced via an Instagram post that on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, Sheeran will perform a one-night-only special event at Barclays Centre in Brooklyn to commemorate a decade of Multiply album.
