In the midst of Mel's paternity issues, Netflix has recently revealed details about its intentions to create a Virgin River prequel that will delve into her parents' past.
As per a report by Deadline, a prequel is presently under development that delves into the romantic tale of Mel's mother Sarah and Everett.
According to current reports, all of this will be revealed through flashbacks in season 6.
During one of the Q&A sessions, the showrunner Patrick Sean Smith offered his opinion on everything.
There he explained the entire plan for Everett's character and said, “What we’re exploring more in Season 6 is who Everett Reid is, what his backstory is, what his connection to Virgin River was when he met her mom and then also what it is today.”
Before signing off he also revealed the “relationship of Everett with the town as well as Everett and Mel.”
For those unversed, John Allen Nelson will portray Everett; however, the casting decision for Sarah has not yet been revealed.
