King Charles is believed to be testing Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s intentions toward reconciliation by inviting them to Balmoral.
Speaking to The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn revealed the 75-year-old monarch is holding out hope for a positive response to his invitation for a retreat in the royal family’s Scottish estate in summer.
"According to people I’ve spoken to at Kensington Palace King Charles has hinted to Harry and Meghan that they should come to Balmoral in the summer to see if something can be done about the ongoing feud in the family,” he claimed.
"Charles knows that Harry and Meghan are much more likely to respond positively to an invitation after the shock of Harry‘s father’s cancer diagnosis and Kate’s cancer diagnosis,” the royal expert explained.
“It’s one of those situations where good might just come out of bad,” Tom added.
The claims about the King’s olive branch to the Sussexes was first reported by Page Six earlier this week, in which a source alleged it stemmed from Charles’ “desperate desire” to see his granchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
An insider shortly told the Daily Express Harry and Meghan are mulling over accepting the invite and join other members of the royal family at the excursion.
