Vidya Balan opened up about the success of Ranbir Kapoor's recent film Animal, stating that the makers were "not apologetic" about the storyline.
In conversation with Pinkvilla, the critically acclaimed actress addressed the criticism faced by the film for being 'misogynist,' however, she believes that the crime-action drama did not let "people's attention drop even for a second."
Vidya said, "When they were telling the story, they said it unabashedly with an abundance and look at the way it worked. People have just connected to it."
She added, "So I really think its the guise of the time is just telling a story, being unapologetic, that's what it is."
Speaking of the critics, The Dirty Picture actress said, "You may agree with something, you may not agree with something but it's extremely gripping, it's therefore, entertaining."
For the unversed, the story of Animal revolves around a troubled relationship between a father and his son, exceptionally portrayed by the movie's male leads Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
