Imtiaz Ali discussed why he selected Diljit Dosanjh for Chamkila film, which released on April 12, 2024
During their appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show tonight, Imtiaz Ali, along with the Chamkila team including Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh, made an intriguing revelation.
The 52-year-old film director shared that the Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan once told him Diljit Dosanjh is the best actor.
Imtiaz also discussed the inspiration behind the movie and also revealed his reasons for selecting Diljit Dosanjh for the role of Chamkila.
When Kapil Sharma, the host, inquired with director Imtiaz about the inspiration behind his decision to undertake Chamkila's story, the Jab Harry Met Sejal director shared, "I have shot in Punjab several times, and people tend to get into the mood after evening.”
On which Diljit Dosanjh chimed in him and said, “People often get into the mood after evenings, it’s only that Punjabis have a bad reputation.”
The film is a biographical film based on the of real-life musician Amar Singh Chamkila, who is a fond of music.
