Arshad Warsi revealed that his character Circuit in Munna Bhai MBBS was initially intended to simply follow Sanjay Dutt's character.
During his appearance on the show Long Drive with Mr Faisu, the 55-year-old actor recounted Vidhu Vinod Chopra's clear explanation that Circuit was merely one of the henchmen trailing behind Sanjay Dutt's character.
The Jolly LLB actor also disclosed that his fortune changed when Rajkumar Hirani granted him creative freedom.
When questioned about whether the character Circuit marked a pivotal moment in his career, Arshad said, “Yes. But it could have taken a wrong turn also. You see, what was that role? There are four or five thugs standing behind the villain, right? I was one of them. You tell me how many actors like those four guys do you remember?”
He further explained, “It was a risk that I took. It was my destiny that I had Raju with me as a director and Sanju as my co actor. Vinod Chopra had clearly told me that I would be one of the four goons with slightly extra lines."
"He was very honest. I knew that Sanju was a very secure actor. He was never insecure and Raju had given me that freedom.”
Furthermore, Arshad also shared insights about his relationship with Sanjay Dutt, saying, “He is a great person. Very sweet. I find him very strong. He has gone through a lot of things."
"He is a very loving person. I get random messages from him. He sends ‘Bro, I miss you’ or he calls and says, ‘Bro I am in Africa, do you want anything."
