House of The Dragon fans can rejoice as the highly anticipated second season is set to return sooner than expected.
Earlier this month, the second season of the hit HBO series was confirmed to be releasing sometime in June.
Now, the exact premiere date has been revealed, with Deadline confirming that House of The Dragon Season 2 will premiere on Sky Atlantic on June 17.
In addition to the premiere date reveal, an HBO spokesperson disclosed to the outlet that the upcoming season will consist of eight episodes, a slight reduction from the ten-episode run of the first season.
Filming for season two commenced in May of the previous year. Amid the writers’ strike in the US, production smoothly transitioned to the UK, as reported by a source for Variety.
Insiders revealed that scripts for the series had been finalized well in advance, ensuring minimal disruptions to filming schedules.
Fans can anticipate the return of familiar faces, as Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans are all set to reprise their roles for the upcoming season.
