Demi Lovato recently got her oven mits out for her fiancé Jordan “Jutes” Lutes’ 33rd birthday.
The birthday festivities included a homemade cake by Lovato, 31, and an intimate dinner with some friends as Jutes rang in his 33rd birthday on March 28, 2024.
The Heart Attack hitmaker took to her Instagram on Thursday to share glimpses into the celebrations, including a picture of herself proudly displaying the cake – a simple rectangle cake with white frosting adorned with blue icing spelling out “Happy B-day Jordan.”
“Is it cake?” Lovato captioned the carousel post.
Taking to the comments section, Jutes quipped, “Best cake in the game and I’m not talkin bout baking,” to which a charmed Lovato replied, “hahahaha I love you honey.”
Jutes even posted the same photograph on his own birthday photo dump, which also offered glimpses into his birthday dinner with Lovato and their friends.
Meanwhile, fans of Lovato rallied around the occasion, celebrating the fact that the cake wasn’t a melon cake — a reference to Lovato's past struggles with an eating disorder. In previous interviews, Lovato has spoken about being forced to eat melon cakes by her former management team as a means of controlling her weight.
For context, Lovato has opened up about her debilitating eating disorder which was nurtured by her old management team making her eat melon cakes instead of actual cakes to avoid gaining weight.
In 2021, Lovato released a song called Melon Cake, where she reflects on her journey to recovery with lyrics like, “No more melon cakes on birthdays / No more barricades in doorways.”
