A powerful spring storm has wreaked havoc across the central United States, bringing dangerous weather conditions to millions of people. While tornadoes threaten the Plains and the South, blizzard conditions blanket the central and Midwest regions of the country.
The storm is a double threat. In the South, places like Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi are on high alert for tornadoes, strong winds, and hail.
This comes just a day after the anniversary of a deadly tornado in Mississippi that injured dozens and destroyed thousands of homes.
Down in the Lower Mississippi Valley, where millions of people live, severe weather alerts warn people to stay safe indoors.
Meanwhile, a winter wonderland is unfolding across the central US. Areas from Nebraska to Minnesota are under blizzard warnings with heavy snow expected.
On Sunday, tornadoes wreaked havoc in places like Kansas and Texas - three in Kansas and two in Texas, damaging buildings and power lines. In Perryton, Texas, a tornado damaged the roof of Ochiltree General Hospital, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service warned Perryton to receive one to two inches of snow today.
Garden City, Kansas also witnessed a tornado on Sunday and reportedly damaged power lines, roofs and fences.
As the storm barrels its way towards East Texas and beyond, experts warn it could get nastier into Louisiana and Mississippi. Damaging winds, more tornadoes, and even flash floods are likely.
