The iconic no 7 jersey worn by Cristiano Ronaldo was for the first time in 17 years worn by another player, Daily Star reported.
The star football player missed the Portugal vs Sweden friendly match in Guimaraes earlier this week. He is on a vacation with his family in Saudi Arabia after having a busy season with Saudi Al-Nassr team.
Ronaldo has been named in Roberto Martinez' 32-player squad for Euro 2024.
Filling the void left by Ronaldo, Portuguese footballer Bruma wore the no 7 jersey, a privilege only reserved for Ronaldo since 2007.
He joined in the match during the second half and scored Portugal team's fourth goal.
Bruma , after the match expressed his admiration for Ronaldo, saying he is his "biggest idol".
Once Ronaldo returns back, Bruma will most likely return back to his usual no 17.
Ronaldo first wore the iconic no 7 when he joined Manchester United in 2003 and since then, has worn adorned the same number in every game for every club.
However, during his first season at Real Madrid, he had to wear no 9 as Raul was still playing.
