Priyanka Chopra expressed her support for the documentary film Women of My Billion, highlighting the pervasive global issue of violence against women, which often remains unaddressed.
The film portrays the true story of a woman embarking on a journey from Kanyakumari to Kashmir to illuminate the ordeals of women who have faced violence.
During the Prime Video Presents event, the 41-year-old actress introduced the director and cast of the documentary.
She also mentioned her enduring partnership with Prime Video, spanning close to four years, and commended the platform for supporting her endeavors.
The Love Again star said, "When I saw this movie – WOMB (Women Of My Billions), a country that belongs to so many people, and just knowing the violence against women is not something that happens in India."
"It is a global phenomenon that is not much talked about,” she added.
Priyanka also highlighted that the documentary showcases Pragya Prasun, who has devoted herself to aiding women impacted by different types of violence.
She also underscored Purple Pebble Pictures' dedication to offering a platform for filmmakers driven by the desire to share significant narratives.
