Sara Ali Khan reveals making her mother 'proud' and inspiring her brother as 'life's goal'

Sara Ali Khan talked about her reasons for acting and her influence on her younger brother, Ibrahim Ali Khan.

In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the 28-year-old actress discussed her sense of responsibility as an actor and how she seeks validation from her mother, Amrita Singh.

During the conversation, when questioned if she aims to become a star or an actor, the Love Aaj Kal star responded, “I look at it as my duty now. It's my responsibility to come and perform."

"After that it's luck and audience's love if I am a star. It is people's perspective if they see me as an actor. That's it."

Sara then responded to the question about her pursuit of validation for her films and performances.

She explained, “Making my mother proud is a very integral part of my life's goal, inspiring my brother to some degree, I'm his elder sister. Like he looks at me after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke and says ‘Aapa jaan I’m proud of you' or whenever he says ‘that’s my sister's song'."

"And ultimately after this trailer when I got to watch this trailer alone, when I see myself in a film like this, that feeling is a validation that I have never felt before. I got lucky to be honest."

"After Simmba and Kedarnath I got audience's love quite early. But I lost it in the middle so I'm hungry for the same now. But the validation I never got is my own and I am getting it now,” the actress added.

On the professional front, Sara was last seen in a recently premiered Netflix film, Murder Mubarak, released on March 15, 2024.

She is now preparing for her the release of her upcoming period drama Ae Watan Mere Watan, set to hit theaters on March 21, 2024.
