Aaron Pierre is no longer linked to Marvel's forthcoming Blade film, as confirmed by the actor himself during the 55th NAACP Image Awards red carpet event.
Addressing his involvement in the project, Pierre revealed to Variety that discussions were initiated early on.
While Pierre's role in the movie was initially undisclosed, reports indicated his selection for a significant part following an extensive casting process.
Marvel has officially announced Mahershala Ali's casting as the titular vampire hunter, with Pierre's role now unaccounted for in the project.
The movie has faced challenges since July 2021, with multiple directors and writers attached to it. Initially, Bassam Tariq was set to direct, accompanied by Stacy Osei-Kuffour as the scriptwriter.
However, Osei-Kuffour exited the project two months before production was scheduled to begin.
Yann Demange assumed the directorial role, with Michael Green hired as the screenwriter.
According to reports, at least five writers have been associated with the film.
