During the star-studded event, the 2023 movie clinched the award for Outstanding Motion Picture, while Fantasia Barrino and her co-stars Colman Domingo and Taraji P. Henson were honoured in their respective categories.
Barrino, recognized for her stellar performance, was bestowed with the Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture award.

Meanwhile, Domingo netted two coveted trophies, one for the Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture award for The Color Purple and the other for Actor in a Motion Picture award for Rustin.
The NAACP Image Awards, organised by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), are deemed as top entertainment honours dedicated to recognising Black excellence.

"If nobody gonna see us, I’m glad that our people see us," Brooks told Reuters on the red carpet at Shrine Auditorium.
In addition to its triumphs in performance categories, the musical thriller also swept the fashion categories at the 2024 Image Awards with three more nods.
